William J. Ferrick Jr., 88, Retired Coca Cola District Manager

William J. Ferrick Jr., 88, the husband of Nancy J. (Lennon) Ferrick, died at home on Dec. 31 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Groveland, he was the son of the late William J. Ferrick and Mary (Lever) Ferrick. Raised and educated in Groveland, he was a graduate of Groveland High School. After graduation, Ferrick enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was employed by Northern New England Coca Cola, where he retired as a district manager. Ferrick was a 55-year member of the Haverhill Lodge of Elks, No. 165, serving as exalted ruler in 1975. He served 15 years as a lodge trustee and was awarded an honorary life membership for outstanding service. He was also very active in the Massachusetts State Elks Association, where he served as state trustee and state chaplain. He was a district deputy and district leader of the Massachusetts North District. He was named state elk of the year in 2005 for his outstanding service. Ferrick was state director of the Elks National Hoop Shoot for 35 years, his favorite program.

In addition to his loving wife Nancy, Ferrick is survived by three sons, James Ferrick, Daniel Ferrick and David Ferrick and his wife Anna, his brother Richard Ferrick and his wife Patricia, brother-in-law Coleman Lee, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Joseph W. Ferrick, daughters-in-law Deborah Ferrick and Sally Ferrick, brothers Edward M. Ferrick, John F. Ferrick and sister Mary M. Lee.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, Jan. 7 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill.
