William E. Abbott, 73, of Groveland, passed away Thursday, March 15, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.
He was born June 3, 1944 in Haverhill, son of the late Howard and Margaret (Whitcomb) Abbott.He attended Haverhill Trade School and retired from the auto trade.
William was predeceased by a brother, Howard Abbott Jr. His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Pamela (Maidment) Abbott; three sons, William Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Steven Abbott and Brian Abbott; stepson, Michael Fontaine and his wife Janet of Haverhill; grandchildren, Cassandra and James Fontaine, Michael Abbott; step grandchildren, Melanie and Andrew Caron; great grandchildren, Brayden, Bentley, Brooke, Matthew and Bryson; brother, Robert Abbott and his wife Karen of Lowell; sisters, Grace and her husband Ronald Bilodeau of Haverhill, Patricia Malone and her husband Dan of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Sunday, March 18, from 2 to 4 at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home 106 Summer St., Haverhill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen MA 01844, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
