Live football is back on 97.9 FM WHAV! The only Haverhill-based news source WHAV is set to bring back live broadcasts of all home and away football games starting on Friday, Sept. 7 when the brown and gold take on St. John’s Prep.

The broadcasts feature a pre-, post- and halftime show anchored by WHAV Sales Director Paul Ryan and color commentator Tommy Morgan, a former Hillie quarterback.

Ryan, who comes to WHAV following a 14-year stint in sales and as the general manager of “The Haverhill Gazette,” can’t wait to get behind the mic to bring the games to listeners.

“The kids deserve the recognition, because they put a lot of time in—as all athletes do at all their sports—and the community is a sports haven,” Ryan said. “There’s a lot of sports enthusiasts that want to hear local sports, and keep track of their nephews and nieces that participate in Haverhill High sports. If they can’t leave the house, they know the game’s on WHAV. It’s simple enough to go to 97.9 and take in all the action.”

Ryan and Morgan are set to appear on WHAV’s Open Mic Show Monday night starting at 7 p.m. to share more about what to expect this football season. Stay with WHAV.net for sports schedules, player updates and much more on the Haverhill Hillies.
