Haverhill’s Mt. Washington neighborhood is about to become a lot more festive. The city’s Urban Kindness initiative will host its annual “Light Up” event on Saturday, Nov. 18, encouraging neighbors to display holiday lights and decorations to boost community spirit.
The Urban Kindness crew will gather in Currier Square near Fantini Bakery from 1 to 3 p.m. to string up more than 10,000 lights. Participants are asked to bring ladders if possible. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served for all volunteers.
Donations of solar lights will also be accepted at Saturday’s event.
