Two Haverhill Men Face Drug-Dealing Charges

Two Haverhill men were arrested on drug-related charges by Haverhill police early Saturday.

Joshua Melendez, 28, of 62 Portland St., Haverhill and Michael Chavez, 27, of 86 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill, were arrested at about 3:58 a.m., Saturday, at 146 White St. Melendez was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute. Chavez was charged with possession of classes B and E drugs, driving under the influence of liquor and alcohol from an open container. Both are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news:

John Cuoco, 40, of 197 East Broadway, Haverhill, was arrested at 11:56 p.m., Saturday, at 106 Bank Road. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a class A drug.

Two people, arrested separately Friday in Haverhill, face unrelated theft charges in district court.

William Ferrier, 63, of North Andover, was arrested at 11:48 a.m., Friday, at 1151 Broadway. He was charged with felony breaking and entering in the daytime and larceny over $250.

Garrett Quinlan, 30, of Dracut, was arrested at 4:32 p.m., Friday, at Hampton Inn Haverhill, 106 Bank Road. He was charged with larceny from a person.

Two area men, in separate police investigations, face assault and other charges following their arrests in Haverhill Friday evening.

John Babineau, 35, of 19 Sixth Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 5:13 p.m., Friday, on Fifth Avenue. He was charged with assault and battery, witness intimidation and threat to commit a crime.

Daniel McGovern, 22, of West Newbury, was arrested at 10:07 p.m., Friday, on Bailey Boulevard. He was charged with assault and battery, malicious damage to a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct.

Other arrests:

Rickey Johnson, 27, 130 South Elm St., Haverhill, was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, on Main Street, 2:10 a.m., Friday.

Adam Filahi, 37, 163 River St., Haverhill, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unsafe operation of a motor vehicle, Emerson Street, 5:29 p.m., Saturday.

Megan Gill, 26, 5.5 Rose St., Haverhill, was arrested on a warrant relating to assault with a dangerous weapon, 5.5 Rose St., 11:08 p.m., Sunday.
