Winnekenni Castle is getting to rock out—for a good cause! The Steve Lyons Fund’s 2018 Rock Out! Cookout concert is planned rain or shine for this Saturday, Aug. 25 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

This year, proceeds from the festival go to the Haverhill High School Marching Band and headline performers include Honeybrain, Buxton Cliff, Colm O’Brien, David Corson and many more, including youth and student musicians.

Acts take the Castle’s outdoor stage all day long for the all-ages event, which includes a barbecue picnic from Hobbsie’s, raffles and kid-friendly activities. The Haverhill Police and Fire Departments will also stage demonstrations, organizer Ruby Lyons tells WHAV.

Since 2012, the Steve Lyons Fund has raised more than $15,000 for Haverhill-area performing arts programs in memory of Lyons, a 2002 Haverhill High graduate and music lover who died in 2006. His family and friends established The Steve Lyons Fund in 2007 to raise money and awareness for youth-oriented organizations promoting music and arts education. The Rock Out! Cookout is their main annual fundraiser.

Tickets purchased in advance at SteveLyonsFund.org are $15 per person with a $50 family maximum. Same-day tickets are $20.
