Stephen Christopher Cantelli, 44, formerly of Haverhill, died Friday, March 9 at the Granite Bay Care group home in South Berwick, Maine.
Born in Haverhill on Nov. 11, 1973, he was one five children of Joanne (Mann) Cantelli and was a student of the Haverhill school system.
Cantelli received loving care at the group home at which he lived since 2011. He loved the outdoors, fishing, basketball and especially wrestling. With his pleasant and mischievous demeanor he brought joy to those around him.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne Cantelli, his sister Tracey Wallace and her husband Troy Wallace of Crawford, Maine, his three brothers, Ian Cantelli and his wife Jennifer Cantelli of Haverhill, Peter Cantelli and his wife Marie Cantelli of Lincolnton, N.C. and Troy Cantelli of Salem, N.H. He is also survived by many more friends and family members who will deeply miss him.
Cantelli taught us that it is important to be positive and to be a tenacious fighter when life presents itself with its toughest challenges.
By request of the family, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stephen C. Cantelli may be made to the Special Olympics. Please make a kind gesture or act toward someone today in his memory.
