Shirley A. (Staples) Wilson, 89, Worked at BayBank

Shirley A. (Staples) Wilson, 89, of Bradford, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

She was born in Haverhill April 23, 1928, the only child of the late Floyd H. “Butsy” Staples, and Blanche E. (Small) Staples. Wilson was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School. She furthered her education and graduated from Fay School of Boston in 1948. She was employed for many years at BayBank. Wilson was an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting, cooking and visiting the beach.

Wilson was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Roger E. Wilson, who passed away in 2002; son-in-law Raymond S. Stewart, who passed away in 2006; and a grandson, Charles R. Stewart who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her children, Lynne D. Barnes and her husband Mark of Haverhill, Gary S. Wilson and his wife Karla of Lynn, Jayne L. Stewart of Haverhill, Susan C. Kulins and her husband Oscar of Methuen and Sandra J. Leblanc and her husband Kenneth; nine grand children; and six great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., at  H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St.. Her funeral is Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial follows in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
