See the Resemblance?

Haverhill Police Chief Alan R. DeNaro vs. actor Robert De Niro.

Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini values the work of Police Chief Alan R. DeNaro—so much, apparently, as to confuse him with famous actor Robert De Niro.

In his recent blog, the mayor referred to the chief as “Robert DeNaro” in an item about Haverhill’s dropping crime rate.

“…Police Chief Robert DeNaro took the podium to announce that recent crime stats in the city of Haverhill are down once again for the first six months of this year. This follows two successive years of double-digit crime reductions in the city,” the mayor wrote.

De Niro is an actor and producer, starring in more than 100 films, including as Vito Corleone in the 1974 film The Godfather Part II. Chief DeNaro is a star too in the mayor’s mind. Fiorentini thanked the department for its efforts.

“We are very proud of our city and we would like to thank our officers for their hard work and dedication to Haverhill!”
