Robert “Bob” DeSando, 59, Was Employed by Lucent

Robert_DeSandoRobert “Bob” DeSando, 59, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a short illness.

DeSando was born Nov. 26, 1957, to his parents Robert C. and Catherine A. (Emerson) DeSando of Haverhill. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1976. After graduation, he was employed by Lucent Technologies where he worked for many years. He was also a courier for a few local businesses. He loved to bowl, bowling for many years at St. Joseph’s bowling league.

He is survived by his mother Catherine and sister Laurie A. LaPlante and her husband Larry, all of Haverhill; niece Casey LaPlante and nephew Corey LaPlante; and a dog, Snoopy, which he loved very much. He was predeceased by his father Robert C. and his brother Jeffrey.

Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Driscoll Funeral Home 309 South Main St., Haverhill, from 4 to 7 p.m. He will be laid to rest in his family lot in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
