Three-term Methuen City Councilor Lisa Yarid-Ferry is racking up Beacon Hill backing in her quest to succeed Rep. Diana DiZoglio to oversee the 14th district.

In the final week before the primary election, Yarid-Ferry has received endorsements from local state Reps. Linda Dean Campbell and Frank Moran, who applauded the democrat for her commitment to her community and willingness to go the extra mile.

“Lisa’s experience at the local and state levels is going to be instrumental in her ability to begin working on day one. I look forward to being able to work with her everyday to better serve the Merrimack Valley,” Moran said of Yarid-Ferry, who worked at the Statehouse for 15 years in the research division of the Joint Committee on Energy and the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy.

Campbell is confident Yarid-Ferry would make big moves on Beacon Hill.

“Lisa is thoughtful, always does her homework, and has a superb work ethic which is well known. She is not hesitant to challenge the status quo and I know that we will work extraordinarily well together to bring resources to both Methuen and Haverhill,” said Campbell.

Yarid-Ferry, who currently serves as Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s executive assistant, is running against North Andover’s Christina A. Minicucci in next Tuesday’s primary election. The 14th district’s predecessor DiZoglio, is running against republican Alexander Williams for state senate.

If elected, Yarid-Ferry would represent portions of Haverhill, Methuen and Lawrence.
