Plug Pond, Swasey Field Spray Park Open to Keep Haverhill Residents Cool

With another week of temperatures expected to climb into the upper 90s, Haverhill is doing their part to keep city residents cool.

Public swimming hole Plug Pond is officially open and available seven days a week from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Swasey Field Spray Park on Blaisdell Street is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The Welcome Street Citizens Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., with extended hours planned as weather needs dictate. Residents are encouraged to call the Citizens Center at 978-374-2390 or the Mayor’s constituent hotline at 311 for updated information.

Plans are underway to arrange for water cannons at parks and playgrounds across the city, Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s office said.
