It’s officially Christmas in Haverhill! City residents spread holiday cheer Friday night downtown as the 2018 Christmas Stroll took over the downtown business district during a night of festive fun put on by the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor James J. Fiorentini and Phoenix Rising Pastor Donna Spencer Collins—known affectionately as “Mama D”—addressed the crowd and sang holiday tunes ahead of Santa’s big arrival in downtown’s Washington Square. The big reveal was a lighting of the city’s Christmas cornerstone, a spruce donated by Albert and Priscilla Coco.

Elsewhere downtown, members of the Haverhill Police and Fire Departments mingled with residents over a S’mores fire pit, while the Harbor Place Residences hosted a storytime and gingerbread cookie decorating session. Rudolph was hanging with Haverhill residents at the Landmark Building with his friends from the Pentucket Kiwanis Club and strollers had the opportunity to mail letters to Santa at the Haverhill Post Office. The holiday favorite Christmas Bell was also on display near Harbor Place.
