Norma E. (Jennings) DeCelle, 85, Retired from Cleary’s Cleaners

Norma E. (Jennings) DeCelle, 85, of Fremont, N.H.,and  formerly of Haverhill and Amesbury, died peacefully at her home Thursday morning, Feb. 1, surrounded by family.

She was the wife of the late Bernard F. DeCelle, who died Feb. 20, 1987.

Born in Amesbury July 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Remsen and Robena (Seavey) Jennings, and grew up in Amesbury where she attended Amesbury School System.

For most of her life she lived between Amesbury and Haverhill, having retired from Cleary’s Cleaners in Haverhill. She excelled at many crafts, keeping herself busy with ceramics, knitting, adult coloring and word searches. She remained active throughout her life, both physically and mentally, always ready to help with anything that needed to be done, and always ready for fun and games. She freely shared her passion for living, instilling those around her with her energetic nature.

She leaves two daughters, Theresa Gelinas and husband Ralph of Fremont, N.H., with whom she lived, and Deborah Maroney and husband Jim Maroney of Atkinson, N.H.; three grandchildren, Melanie Makarow, Justin Silveira and Jeffrey Gelinas; four great-grandchildren, Brennan, Cameron, Abigail and Hayden; step-granddaughter, Laura Finocchiaro and her husband John, and her four children; a brother, Roger Jennings of Amesbury; three sisters, Lucille Campbell of New Jersey, Sister Joan Rita Ann O’Carm of the Carmelite Order of S. Boston, and Mary Bettencourt of Amesbury; along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Visiting hours at the Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 W. Main St., Merrimac, will be Monday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Ave., Haverhill. Springtime burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
