MIAA Division 1 Playoff Preview: Haverhill Faces St. John’s, Methuen Goes Against Acton-Boxboro

The matchups are set and the players are getting ready! The Haverhill High School Hillies are the No. 7-seeded team going into this week’s MIAA Division 1 playoffs, set to face off against previous challenger St. John’s Prep.

The Eagles beat the brown and gold in the Hillies’ Sept. 7 season opener in Danvers 43-14. Following a 41-0 loss to Central Catholic this week, Haverhill High goes into the tourney with a record of 4-3.

Game play in the Division 1 North playoffs begin Oct. 26 with the 7 p.m. kickoff in four matchups across the region. If Haverhill wins on Friday against St. John’s, they’ll play the winner of the Methuen vs. Acton-Boxboro game, also taking place on Friday, Oct. 26.

Everett High School is the top-seeded team in the statewide tournament.
