Merrimack Valley Hospice recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official naming of High Pointe House in honor of a donation by Stephen and Joan Clark of Haverhill.

As WHAV reported last May, High Pointe is the name of the foundation established by the Clarks in honor of their son Stephen, who passed away in 2009.

“We are so honored that Stephen and Joan Clark chose to recognize Merrimack Valley Hospice by bestowing our agency with this generous pledge and allowing them to name High Pointe House,” said Karen Gomes, president and CEO of Home Health Foundation.

The hospice and palliative care residence of Merrimack Valley Hospice, at 360 North Ave. in Haverhill, offers 21 private suites as well as libraries, indoor and outdoor dining areas, family gathering areas and landscaped walkways and gardens. Since opening, the house has provided end-of-life care to more than 4,000 patients, and grief and bereavement support to families and loved ones.

Donna Deveau, vice president of External Relations for Home Health Foundation said, “The name High Pointe House is meaningful to the Clark family and reflects our beautiful and peaceful setting.”
