Maurice R. Ashes, 57, Veteran and Bus Driver

Maurice R. Ashes, 57, of Haverhill, passed away at home on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

He was born in Waterbury, Conn., on February 21, 1961, the son of the late Helen Rodgers.

Ashes was educated in the Waterbury school system and graduated from Waterbury High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army. Following his honorable discharge, he settled in Haverhill and was employed by Salter Transportation as a bus driver.

In his free time, Ashes enjoyed listening to music and loved watching movies.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Susan A. (Langlois) Ashes of Haverhill, three sons, Maurice R. Ashes Jr. and his wife Crystal of Waterbury, Conn., Tyree Ashes and his partner Bethany of Haverhill and Anthony Langlois and his wife Staycee of Haverhill, two brothers, Zachary Ashes and his wife Gail of Hardwick and Mills Rodgers of Waterbury Conn., two sisters, Faye Booker Waterbury Conn. and Corey Ashes-Tyler of Stanford Conn., a granddaughter, Cassidy Leighton, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon – 2 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
