Matthew S. Sabatino, 28, Stabbing Victim, Worked at Doyle Lumber

Matthew_SabatinoMatthew S. Sabatino, 28, passed away Thursday, June 8, from injuries he received after being stabbed Memorial Day weekend in downtown Haverhill. He died at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

He was born March 13, 1989 in Haverhill, son of Joel B. and Wendi J. (Jaffarian) Sabatino. He attended Haverhill Schools and was employed as a receiving manager with Doyle Lumber, Andover. He loved music and was an accomplished drummer with a passion for life. He was a daring cliff diver and natural adventurer. Matt had an incredible sense of humor and especially loved making other people smile and laugh. He enjoyed his time with family and friends and entertained them with his knowledge of movies, music and an incredible ability to make others laugh.

He is survived by his fiancé; Courtney L. Trussell of Lawrence; two children, Logan M. and Falyn M. Sabatino; parents, Joel and Wendi Sabatino of Haverhill; sister; Stephanie Richards and husband “Chip” of Groveland; and brother; Joel B. Sabatino Jr. and wife Amy of Methuen; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Nancy Jaffarian of Haverhill; niece, Isabella Rose Sabatino; nephew, Walter “Finn” Richards; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends. Hewas predeceased by his niece, Hadley Lyn Richards.

A celebration of his Life takes place Friday, June 16, 11 a.m., from the Lifeline Baptist Church , 14 Brandy Brow Road, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to benefit his children at TD Bank 280 Main St. Groveland, MA 01834. Arrangements are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill.
