If you were hoping to renew your license or get your car inspected this weekend, you’re out of luck.
The Mass. Registry of Motor Vehicles has announced that they will be closed from Thurs., March 22 at 7 p.m. until Mon., March 26 at 8 a.m. to update their computer system.
“ATLAS, the RMV’s new computer system, will provide customers with an easier, quicker, and more convenient customer experience whether they engage with the RMV in person, on the web, by mail, or by phone,” according to the mass.gov website.
All RMV locations will be closed across the state. No online transactions will be processed. No motor vehicle inspections will be performed and any AAA offices that usually provide RMV services will not be offering them during this time.
The RMV announcement concludes, “We are working around the clock to make sure that the transition to our new operating system; ATLAS, is as smooth and seamless as possible for all RMV customers and partners and appreciate your patience as we upgrade our technology.”
