Local businesses put sales competition aside for friendly games of dodgeball at the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce’s first annual tournament.

Players from 17 teams of businesses, non-profits and civic groups battled for ultimate bragging rights at the Nov. 29 tourney at the Haverhill/Plaistow YMCA.

Ground Care Landscaping took home top honors, with Pentucket Bank and the Rotary Club of Haverhill finishing in second and third place.

“This was a unique business after-hours opportunity,” Chamber President Beverly Donovan said. “Players came looking to win and compete with their coworkers and friends and make new business connections on and off the court.”

Teams also dropped off toy donations for the Y’s Giving Tree.
