A Lawrence man has died from injuries sustained in a July 4th jet ski crash on the Merrimack River, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan confirmed Wednesday, July 5.
Lowell Police and Environmental Police were dispatched to Rynne Beach in Lowell on Tuesday afternoon to attend to a male in the aftermath of an apparent jet ski accident. The victim, Juan Arroyo-Ortiz, 39, was transported to Lowell General Hospital, where he was treated and later succumbed to his injuries.
The DA’s office is urging members of the public who may have witnessed the collision of two jet skis on the Merrimack River between 2 and 2:30 p.m. on July 4 to reach out to Massachusetts State Police, Environmental Police, or Lowell Police.
