Dan Koh is in the midst of a marathon week—a door-knocking marathon, that is. The candidate vying to succeed Niki Tsongas in the 3rd District hopes to knock on 1,000 doors across his the area, which includes 37 cities and towns.
Koh launched the voter outreach effort in Lowell and knocked on nearly 200 doors on Sunday. He’ll make his way across the Merrimack Valley to greet voters in Haverhill on Friday, closing out his tour.
The freshman democrat was thrilled to be a sounding board for voters across the district.
“We had an amazing day throughout so many neighborhoods talking to voters. (There was) such diversity of people with very similar concerns: First and foremost, standing up to this president and how we defend the values we believe in,” Koh said. Other concerns raised by residents were access to universal healthcare and how to spur the local economy, he added.
The Andover-based candidate, a former Chief of Staff to Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, is preparing for the state’s congressional primary election on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The candidate elected to Congress will act on behalf of residents across the Merrimack Valley, in cities and towns including Andover, Lawrence and Methuen.
