Kathleen M. (Strangman) McAninch, 62, Haverhill Schools Administrative Assistant

Kathleen M. (Strangman) McAninch, 62, of Bradford, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 3, at her mother’s residence surrounded by her loving family after her long battle with breast cancer.

She was born May 1, 1955, in Haverhill, daughter of Charlene M. (Miner) Strangman and the late Richard J. Strangman. McAninch was employed by Haverhill Public School System as administrative assistant to the business manager. She was president of the Haverhill Boys and Girls Club Women’s Auxiliary, Haverhill, and a lifelong member of Sacred Hearts Parish, Bradford.

Her life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping at Salisbury Beach Reservation with her family, attending live performances at North Shore Music Theater and her love of lighthouses.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kevin D. McAninch; sons, James M. McAninch and his wife, Jennifer of Haverhill, and Shawn P. McAninch and his wife, Haley of Kingston, N.H.; grandchildren, Colin, Kevin, Dylan, Ryan and Lillian McAninch; siblings, Richard J. Strangman Jr. and his wife Geraldine of Shutesbury, and the late John T. Strangman and his wife, Kathleen of Haverhill, and Maureen A. (Strangman) Bergeron Bates and her husband, Michael P. Bates of Bradford; nephews and nieces, Zachary F. Strangman and Nichole M. Strangman, John T. Strangman Jr. and Bailey A. (Strangman) Miller and her husband, David Miller, Richard (Dick) M. Bergeron Jr. and Sarah C. Bergeron; many cousins, family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday, Dec. 7, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial takes place Friday, Dec. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Church 165 S. Main St. (route. 125), Bradford, MA. Burial immediately follows at  Elmwood Cemetery, Salem St., Bradford.
