Joseph A. Sciacca, 73, Former Groveland Water Department Employee

Joseph A. Sciacca, 73, of Groveland, passed away Tuesday, May 15, at Hunt Nursing and Rehab in Danvers. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen (Adams) Sciacca. Born July 19, 1944 in Medford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pasquerillo) Sciacca.

Sciacca grew up in Malden and moved to Groveland in 1957. He was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School. Sciacca worked for over 20 years in the water department for the town of Groveland. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and cherished time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Kathleen P. Sciacca of Groveland, two sons Joseph A. Sciacca and wife Meredith of Brunswick, Maine and Timothy R. Sciacca and wife Katherine of Phoenix, Ariz., and daughter Brenda Seavey and husband Scott of Sandown, N.H. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Alex, Morgan, Jacob and Amy, three sisters, Ann Siney of Bradford, Josephine Marchisio and husband Anthony of Groveland and Patricia Rogers and husband Wilbur of Salisbury and two brothers, John Sciacca and companion Marcia of Plaistow, N.H., and Paul Sciacca and wife Kathy of Merrimac. He will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Richard and a brother-in-law Robert.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 18 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830. A burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Groveland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
