Joseph A. Naudzunas, 84, Former Maintenance Manager at Merrimack College

Joseph A. Naudzunas, 84, passed away on May 9 in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Alexander and Jennie (Cirute) Naudzunas. He attended both Haverhill High School and Haverhill Vocational Tech School. Naudzunas was a carpenter by trade, employed for the Tyler Construction Company of Bradford for over 30 years. He became the maintenance manager at Merrimack College where he worked until his retirement. Naudzunas was the “fix it man” of the city. He could do all kinds of odd jobs and many people looked to him for their small jobs. He loved to travel with his daughter Theresa and her family, including to Eastern Europe where he visited his parents’ homeland. Naudzunas loved fishing with his son in Salem harbor for flounder and striper. He was known as a flirtatious character with a sense of humor. Family was important to him and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Naudzunas is survived by his children, Joseph Naudzunas and Kelly Parady of San Fransisco, Calif., Andrew Naudzunas and his wife Deborah of Atkinson, N.H., Kenneth Naudzunas and his wife Christine of Atkinson, N.H., Theresa De Meno and her husband Randy of Statten Island, N.Y., his companion of 37 years, Barbara Bergeron and her children, Sandy, Randy, Sharon and Lori, grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, Brittanie, Ryan, Lauren, Andrew, Emily, Connor and Josh; two great-grandchildren, Walter and Ada. He was predeceased by his son Stephen Naudzunas.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, May 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lithuanian Grove Cemetery, Montvale Street, Bradford.
