Irene Marie (Franzone) Davis, 88, of Methuen and formerly of Haverhill, died Monday morning, May 30, of natural causes, at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, June 2, 1927, daughter of the late Gustino and Giulia (Baldasari) Franzone. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Davis graduated from Haverhill High School. She resided in Groveland for 35 years, and more recently split her time living in Methuen and Fort Myers, Fla., for six months at a time. A member of the former St. Rita’s Church, Haverhill, Davis cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed cooking.
She was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” Davis who died in 1999 and sister of the late Joseph and Daniel Franzone. Her survivors include a daughter, Jude Shanahan of Haverhill; two sons, R. Kevin Davis of Brentwood, N.H., and Brian A. Davis of Haverhill; sister, Rosalie and her husband Ralph Gaeta of Stoneham; brother, Frank Franzone of Atkinson, N.H.; six grandchildren, Timothy, Colleen, Brian and his wife Katherine Shanahan, Patrick Shanahan, Anthony and Briana Davis; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday, June 1, from 4 to 6 p.m., at H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Her funeral is Thursday, June 2, starting at 10 a.m., at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11, in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
