Hunking School Work Forces Relocation of Two Polling Places

Haverhill City Clerk Linda L. Koutoulas.

Ongoing construction site work at Haverhill’s Hunking School has prompted city election officials to temporarily change polling locations for voters in two precincts.

During the Thursday, Sept. 8, state primary and Tuesday, Nov. 8, presidential election, voters from Ward 2, Precinct 2 (Hunking School art room) will be casting ballots at Northtpoint Bible College, 320 South Main St., according to a statement Friday from Haverhill City Clerk Linda L. Koutoulas. Meanwhile, voters from Ward 7, Precinct 2, who would have cast ballots at the old Hunking library, will vote at Bradford Elementary School, 116 Montvale St.

“The change for these two precincts is only for 2016. Once the new school is open, the polling locations will return to that school,” Koutoulas said.

Polls on election days will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
