Applications are currently being accepted for affordable housing units in the Tenney Place development off Haverhill’s Lowell Avenue, with a lottery set for January.

The under construction housing complex will feature three buildings, with the first building scheduled for completion in Spring 2018. All units, including 72 currently under construction, should be completed by the end of next year.

“I am pleased to announce that we have legally incorporated into this housing lottery a preference for current Haverhill residents and for City of Haverhill employees,” Mayor James J. Fiorentini said Tuesday.

Applications, available online or at City Hall’s Community Development Office, are being accepted through Dec. 31. The lottery will take place Jan. 10 at the Haverhill Public Library. One-bedroom units will rent for $918 per month, two-bedroom units will be $1,092 per month and three-bedroom units will be $1,254 per month.

Unsuccessful lottery participants can still be placed on the housing wait list.
