A quick overview of what it took to build the new Hunking School is presented by Haverhill Public Schools in two new videos.
In the first, Shawmut Construction and Design Superintendent John Hartshorn reviews progress over the last 21 months that led to the school’s unofficial opening last week.
“We are aware there’s more work to be done, and we’re going to finish strong just like we’ve been strong the whole way through,” he promises.

In a second video, Superintendent James F. Scully serves as narrator, showing students, faculty and guests entering the school for the first time, the first flag raising, students’ welcome and thanks, Principal Shannon Nolan’s address, Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s reflections on Hunking history and other speeches from the school’s informal opening.
