Haverhill Police Department is again having its “Great/DARE Days” Summer Camp for children 8 to 11 between July 10 and Aug. 11.

The free camp provides recreation, guest speakers and field trips and takes place between Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., at Consentino School.

Applications are available at Haverhill Police Department, 40 Bailey Blvd., beginning June 1. Parents or guardians of participating children must complete a permission slip with medical information and return it to Haverhill Police by June 30. An officer will call applicants to confirm attendance. While, police said, no one has ever been turned away from the program, space is limited.

Lunch and snacks are provided by the Haverhill Public Schools summer meal program, but parents and guardians must provide drinks. No soda allowed during camp. Parents also must arrange for children’s transportation and inform police of those arrangements so that we do not have anyone stranded at the conclusion of the days’ events. Children participating on a daily basis will be considered for field trips throughout the summer.
