A 57-year-old Haverhill man died late Saturday night, apparently after suffering a “medical event,” before crashing into two parked cars on High Street.
Haverhill Police were called to 71 High St. at about quarter to 11.
A preliminary investigation by Haverhill and a Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction team suggests the man, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, may have succumbed just prior to the crash and lost control of the vehicle. A passenger in the Jeep was not injured. The unidentified driver was taken to Holy Family Hospital Haverhill where he was pronounced dead from what, police said, was presumed to be a medical condition unrelated to the accident.
The accident caused the street to be closed during an investigation
