You may not recognize the Haverhill Public Library Sunday, March 4, when the institution is transformed into a collection of giant board games during its second annual Patron Appreciation Day.

The library features eight wall games, including Scrabble, Operation, Jenga, Checkers, Corn Hole and others from 1 to 4:30 p.m. that day. There will also be a Ducky Derby with prizes, crafts, face painting and refreshments.

“The community of Haverhill has always been so supportive of the library,” says Ricky Sirois, the library’s assistant director. “We wanted to thank everyone by providing a little break from the normal routine with a day of fun and games. Patron Appreciation Day was a huge success in 2017, and we can’t wait to do it again this year!”

Patron Appreciation Day aims to thank residents for supporting the library all year long by attending free programs, using the institution’s extensive book and movie collections and taking advantage of public computing and study areas.

The event, sponsored by the Trustees of the Haverhill Public Library, is free and open to the public.
