Summer’s here—and Haverhill’s Highlands neighborhood is ready to party! On Saturday, June 23, the city’s Highlands neighborhood—in the area near Golden Hill School and Plug Pond—plans a free block party from 3-9 p.m. at Windsor Park.
“We want to connect everyone, especially neighbors. We know there’s strength in numbers,” organizer and neighbor Justine Maguire tells WHAV of the gathering, which features food, games and family-friendly activities including a tour of a police cruiser.
In the event of rain, the summer kickoff bash is rescheduled to June 30 from 3-9 p.m., Maguire said.
Residents unable to make the block party are encouraged to keep up with the neighborhood association through Facebook, where they’ll soon post dates for their monthly meetings and activities, which resume in the fall. In the past, the group has organized speaker sessions, holiday events and other activities that allow neighbors to meet and mingle.
