Haverhill Democrats will choose delegates and alternates Saturday to the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.

A caucus takes place Feb. 10, 1 p.m., at the Haverhill Public Library Auditorium. Haverhill will be sending 34 delegates and 27 alternates to the state Democratic convention, along with other non-voting delegates.

The 2018 Convention takes place Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2, at the DCU Center in Worcester. Democrats from across the state gather to nominate Democratic candidates for U.S. senator, governor and other statewide offices.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Haverhill. Voters may become a Democrat at the caucus and participate on the same day. A pre-registered 17-year old Democrat who will be 18 on or before Sept. 18, may also take part in the caucus and run for delegate or alternate. All ballots will be written and secret. Youth, minorities, people with disabilities and LGBTQ individuals who are not elected as a delegate or alternate at the caucus may apply to be add-on delegates.

Saturday’s registration begins at 12:30.
