Haverhill’s Council on Aging wants to make sure every senior in the community has a happy holiday.
A ‘giving tree’ has been set up in the dining room at 10 Welcome St. and includes gift ideas for seniors in need. Members of the public are invited to select a gift idea, shop for and wrap the present and return it by Monday, Dec. 18.
Requested gifts include large and extra large sweatshirts and sweaters, toiletries, ladies’ decorative scarves, socks, necklaces and candy.
The Council on Aging asks that secret Santas do not leave gifts under the tree. Instead, bring gifts to the Activities Department on the second floor. When leaving a gift, please note its contents on a tag so staff can distribute appropriately.
