Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High students work quickly to finish the school’s new machine shop in time for Gov. Charlie Baker’s visit.

Gov. Charlie Baker is expected at 10:30, Thursday morning, at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School.

As WHAV reported earlier, the governor will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the school’s new advanced manufacturing program. The transformed machine and tool program was paid for with a $500,000 Skills Capital Grant in partnership with Northern Essex Community College and the Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium.

Since the Skills Capital grants were launched, the administration has awarded more than $26.4 million in Skills Capital Grants to 67 different institutions.

  1. Of course he’s going to show up it is an election-year. I hope he learns from Whittier, that proper maintenance and tools for learning should be the focus of the school leaders not solar panels.
