Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High students work quickly to finish the school’s new machine shop in time for Gov. Charlie Baker’s visit.
Gov. Charlie Baker is expected at 10:30, Thursday morning, at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School.
As WHAV reported earlier, the governor will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the school’s new advanced manufacturing program. The transformed machine and tool program was paid for with a $500,000 Skills Capital Grant in partnership with Northern Essex Community College and the Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium.
Since the Skills Capital grants were launched, the administration has awarded more than $26.4 million in Skills Capital Grants to 67 different institutions.
Of course he’s going to show up it is an election-year. I hope he learns from Whittier, that proper maintenance and tools for learning should be the focus of the school leaders not solar panels.
Great school! Whittier needs much more publicity than Haverhill polls give it. Hopefully the mayor shows up!
