Gertrude (Halloran) Bryant, 76, Security Guard at HHS, Whittier Tech

Gertrude (Halloran) Bryant, 76, passed away peacefully on Feb. 28 at Penacook Place, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Haverhill on June 18, 1941, the daughter of Russell and Catherine (Donovan) Halloran. Bryant shared a loving marriage of 41 years with her husband Lee M. Bryant who passed away in 2001.

Bryant worked as a security guard for Whittier Vo-Tech from 1977-1986 and Haverhill High School from 1986-2003, where she was held in high regard by her peers and students. She also served as a constable for the City of Haverhill. Bryant previously worked as a nurse’s aide at Lenox Nursing Home in Bradford.

She was totally devoted to her family and her Irish pride. She loved her country music, taking rides and had fond memories of family vacations in Deer Isle and Biddeford, Maine.

Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the family and friends who have supported them over the past few years, and send heartfelt thanks to the caring and compassionate staff and friends at Penacook Place.

Bryant’s surviving family members include her daughters Theresa Kelleher and husband Mark and Sheila Fraser and husband Gary, granddaughters Meagan Parolisi and husband Tom, Mary Medugno and husband Nick and Allison Fraser, step-grandchildren Gary, Rodney and Elizabeth Fraser, great-grandchildren Cole and Gavin Medugno, Sierra and Tommy Parolisi, siblings Belle Tilton and husband Cliff, Sheila Perry and husband Bob, Russell “Bud” Halloran and wife Sylvia, John “Jack” Halloran and wife Patti, brother in-law Mac Bryant and wife Joyce and many cherished nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Eileen Dewhurst and her husband Benjamin and sister in-law of the Roy Bryant.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 2, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main St., Haverhill from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will begin Saturday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 So. Main St., Bradford at 11 a.m.. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bryant’s name to the Memory Unit at Penacook Place, 150 Water St., Haverhill, MA 01832.
