Geraldine E. (Thunberg) Hudson, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Haverhill on Wednesday, June 6. She was the beloved wife of Melvin A. Hudson. Born in Chelsea on Nov. 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Polovick) Thunberg.
Hudson was raised in Chelsea and attended Chelsea schools. In addition to being a mother and homemaker to her loving family, she was employed as a skilled caregiver to elders for several years. She enjoyed time with her family and was a caring soul who loved animals, especially her two dogs and a parrot.
Hudson is survived by her husband of 36 years, Melvin A. Hudson, five children, Denise McGraw, Geraldine Landers, William Landers, Sr., Wanita Shomali and Crystal Rankis. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Services are private and are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations in Hudson’s name be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
