Georgette G. (Ward) McKay Stryeski, 84, of Groveland, passed away Sunday, May 21, at her daughter’s home with her family by her side.

Stryeski was born in Haverhill, Dec. 11, 1932, daughter of the late George and Juliette (Paris) Ward. She was raised in Bradford and attended Haverhill Public Schools. Stryeski graduated from Haverhill High School with the class of 1949 and, after raising children, she was employed for many years at AT&T. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, shopping, entertaining and traveling the world with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward Stryeski, who passed away in 2001; brothers, Armand and Lawrence Ward; sisters, Theresa Lapierre and Norma Knowlton; and stepbrother John Regan.

She leaves her four children, Jay McKay and his wife Wendy of Rye, N.H., Thomas McKay and his wife Rima of New York City, Douglas McKay and his wife Normita of Belmont and Patricia Firger and her husband Jon of Haverhill; 10 grandchildren, Allison, Katharine and Erin McKay, Elizabeth Fryman and her husband Michael, Andrew Firger, Christopher Firger and his wife Sienna, Georgia and Jake McKay and their mother Kimberly Sheppard and Victoria and Micaela McKay; three great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Debbie Noyes and her husband Bert and Ellen Edes and her husband Gary; and several nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the doctors and staff at the MGH Cancer Center, Merrimack Valley Hospice and to her friends for their support during her illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass Friday, May 26, 11 a.m., at Sacred Hearts Church 165 S. Main St., Bradford. Burial follows at Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Mass General Tucker-Gosnell Cancer Center or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
