National Pet ID Week is April 15 to April 21, because one in three pets will get lost in their lifetime.

So your pet will not be one of them, Haverhill’s Have a Heart Animal Clinic on Broadway is offering free microchipping for all pets throughout the week.

Microchipping usually costs about $45 – $50 per pet.

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted with a large needle and most veterinarians say there is very little pain involved for the pet.

Owners will still be responsible for the enrollment fee.
