Students and staff were evacuated from Tilton School because of an electrical problem, Haverhill Public Schools Superintendent James F. Scully said Friday afternoon.
All students were taken to Consentino School, 685 Washington St., and by 2:15 p.m., 80 percent of those students had been picked up by their families.
“We had great cooperation from both the staff at the Consentino and the Tilton Schools, [including] all support staff such as cafeteria staff,” Scully said.
School officials have determined that the electrical panel at Tilton needs to be replaced. Repairs to the panel and auxiliary equipment will take place over the weekend in time for students to return to school on Monday morning.
It’s an inadequate mayor allowing millions of taxpayer dollars to be spent on privately owned apartments while our schools are falling apart.
Is Tilton really safe, or a reflection of inadequate maintenance funding?
It was my understanding it was a small fire. So why isn’t anybody saying ” it was a small fire ?” Once again people are being lied to !
