Polls across Massachusetts closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, and voters across the Commonwealth have cast ballots to elect candidates in several key local races, including naming a 3rd district congressperson to replace retiring Niki Tsongas.
Haverhill City Clerk Linda Koutoulas told WHAV she was pleasantly surprised with Tuesday’s turnout, estimated to be at 40 percent of eligible voters. “It’s amazing. A lot of people were changing their parties one way or another and there was a lot of registration activity—people are asking where they can vote. All these numbers add up,” she told WHAV.
