A 48-year-old Sturbridge man died from injuries sustained in a Monday morning crash on Andover’s Interstate 93 just north of Interstate 495, State Police said.

When Trooper David Hanafin arrived on the scene just after 12:30 a.m., he discovered that the 2008 GMC Sierra driven by Derek Frechette drove off the northbound roadway and rolled over into a wooded area.

Members of the Andover Fire Department extricated Frechette from the vehicle and transported him to Lawrence General Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by State Police out of the Andover barracks.
