Covanta Haverhill donated $600 late last week to the Pentucket Lake Elementary School PTO 2017 fund.

Business Manager Mark Van Weelden presented the check to Beth Leger, PTO volunteer.

“PTO organizations are vital in filling many funding gaps in our school systems—both by providing outside educational opportunities and by offering direct support to students,” Van Weelden said. “Covanta is proud to be associated with the Pentucket PTO by offering assistance that goes directly to enrich the lives of our local children,” he added.

Money collected helps cover the cost of field trips, buses, cultural arts assemblies, free family events, classroom supplies and other education material.

Besides Leger, he thanked Nicole N. Carlow, treasurer, and other PTO volunteers for their “dedicated service to the students.”
