Confused about the three questions on November’s upcoming election ballot? You’re not alone. Voters across the Merrimack Valley are torn over, among others, question 1, which details the proposal that could limit the number of patients assigned to registered nurses at hospitals across the state.
To help residents make a more informed decision at the polls on Nov. 6, Haverhill’s Citizens Center hosts a session with representatives from Lawrence General Hospital to discuss both sides of the issue. The 3 p.m. session on Thursday, Oct. 25 is free and open to all. Advance registration is requested by calling Kathy or Rita at 978-374-2390.
Haverhill’s Democratic City Committee hosts an evening session starting at 7 p.m. at 4 Merrimack St., with plans to discuss all questions on the ballot. Question 2 concerns limiting election spending and question 3 proposes to repeal the 2016 state law that banned discrimination against transgender people in public places like restaurants and restrooms. No advance registration is necessary for the free HDCC event.
