Cecile T. (Lagasse) DiPirro, 92, Operated Tony’s Used Auto Parts

Cecile_DiPirroCecile T. (Lagasse) DiPirro, 92, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 25, surrounded by her loving family.

DiPirro was born in Haverhill, May 15, 1924, daughter of the late Henry and Alma (Rheaume) Lagasse, and was educated at Saint Joseph Grammar School and Haverhill High School. She was the wife of Anthony “Tony” DiPirro for 59 years until his death  Dec. 5, 2005. A resident of Haverhill all of her life, she was a faithful communicant of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish. As a young woman, she worked as a stitcher for Eastern Canvas and Lagasse Furniture Company, a family owned business. For many years, she and her late husband owned and operated Tony’s Used Auto Parts in Haverhill, which is now operated by their son Thomas.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Patricia Finlay-Hamilton and Bob Hamilton of Groton, Maria and City Councilor Bill Macek of Haverhill, and Tom and Nancy DiPirro of Plaistow, N.H.; six grandchildren James and Kimberly Finlay of Pennsylvania, Kathryn Finlay and Amy Zimmerman of California, Daniel and Amber Macek of Vermont, Nicholas Macek of California, Andrea and Nicholas Blei of Belmont and Anthony J. DiPirro and Jesse Hale of Boston; step grandchildren Scott and Jen Hamilton of Douglas, and Jess and Casey Hamilton of N.H.; 10 great-grandchildren, Regan, Henry, Greyson, Haleigh, Ashton, Caleb, Bethany, Sarah, Lily and Emma;, two brothers, Gene Lagasse of Atkinson, N.H., and Fred Lagasse of Newmarket, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Victor, Arthur, and William Lagasse, and a sister Jeannette Girard.

Her funeral was this morning from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Church. Burial was to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Saint Vincent-de-Paul Society of All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill
