Barbara M. (Spooner) Jameson, 83, Came to Haverhill in 2006

Barbara M. (Spooner) Jameson, 83, of Haverhill, and formerly of New Bedford, passed away peacefully, Wednesday Morning, March 1, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

She was born in New Bedford, May 12, 1933, daughter of the late Byron and Nellie (Cleary) Spooner. She was educated in the New Bedford school system and graduated from Waterbury High School after her family moved to Connecticut. Jameson was employed for 27 years at Payne cutlery Scissor Factory and Stride Rite Shoes until her retirement in 1995. She moved from New Bedford to Haverhill in 2006. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed puzzles and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick T. Jameson and is survived by her son Nicholas A. Jameson and his wife Susan C. of Plaistow, N.H.; two grandchildren, Erin Jameson of Boston and Colin Jameson and his wife Lisa of Haverhill; great grandchild, Madison Jameson; two sisters, Shirley Robitaille of New Bedford., and Winifred Thatcher of Cedarville; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Walter Park.

A private memorial service will take place at a date to be determined. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Norwood, MA 02062.
