Andrew Duma, 83, Retired from Western Electric

Andrew Duma, 83, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 18.

He was born in Haverhill on Jan. 10, 1935 the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Mroz) Duma. He was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from St. James High School prior to joining the Army.

After his honorable discharge, Duma earned his associate degree from UMass Lowell. He was employed for over 35 years at Western Electric as a test technician and layout operator until his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Michael’s Church, AMVETS, and the B.P.O.E. Elks No. 165 of Haverhill. He enjoyed traveling, reading and was an avid candlepin bowler.

Duma was predeceased by his siblings, Rose Souliotis, Emma Osmolinski, Charlotte Vine, Phyllis Wolak, and William Duma. He is survived by his brother, Stanley Duma of Haverhill as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Barbara A. Souliotis of Haverhill and Dr. Theodore A. Souliotis of Bradford.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, April, 23 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial with military honors will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the All Saints Food Pantry, 120 Bellevue Ave. Haverhill, MA 01832.
