Align Credit Union, which has a Haverhill branch, again collected school supplies this summer during July and August.

The goal was to help students in need begin the school year successfully by receiving donations of backpacks, binders, notepads, pens, pencils and more.

Align collected donations from credit union members and non-members alike at Align’s locations at 19 Haverhill Road, Amesbury, and 87 Hale St., Lowell.

“Some families struggle to find the money to buy basic supplies,” said Align President Ken Del Rossi. “Drives like these are a simple way to help children start their school year off right.”

At the end of the drive, donations were delivered to the Pettengill House, Salisbury, and Catie’s Closet, Lowell. The charitable organizations will distribute them to local students who need assistance.
