Sylvia (Britton) Muldowney, 79, Western Electric Worker

Sylvia (Britton) Muldowney, 79, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home on Monday, October 20, 2014 after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, George M. and Elizabeth (Lagasse) Britton. She attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School.

Muldowney was employed at the former Western Electric and retired from Lucent Technologies in North Andover after 20 years. In addition to her career she also was a full time homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. An avid sports fan, she loved following the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her family and valued the precious memories spent together.

She leaves her loving children, David V. and Dawn Muldowney, of Haverhill, Joseph W. and Cheryl Muldowney, of Fremont, N.H., James R. Muldowney and Maggie Wiley, of Austin, Texas, Sharon A. DeMarco, and her husband Allen F. Jr., of Fremont, N.H., Dale R. and Haley Muldowney, of Coeur D’Alene, ID, and Anna H. Muldowney and her life partner, Kris Marshall, of Fredericksburg, Virg., 10 cherished grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, James Britton, of Bradford, and Russell Britton, of Salem, N.H., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Britton, Florence Dorothy, Antoinette Blaisdell, Anna Forte, and brothers, Alfred, Arthur, George, Nappy, Raymond, and Herbert.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (route 125) Haverhill. Funeral services for Sylvia will be held Friday morning at 10: a.m. in the funeral home. Burial is private.
